Personally, after running stock 265s, 285/70/17s, and 35's..........I think the 285/75/17 is the best all around size tire for our trucks.

Tire size explanation using this size: 285/70/17

The 285 measurement is tire tread width, in millimeters.

The 70 is a percentage of the sidewall against the tire width. This means that the sidewall is 70% of the measured tread width, or roughly 200mm.

And 17 is obviously the wheel size.

On the 2500 and 3500, I've seen 305/60/18 put on without a lift or rubbing issues.

+1

Toyo AT's on mine. Very happy with them but I'm still going to level my truck, when I slow down spending money on other hobbies.

That is a great price. Did you buy them privately or is there somewhere selling them at that price?

Best place to go to find out the mesurments for wheels and tires that I found is: wheelsmaster.com They have a tire size calculator that you can compare two tires and wheels side by side......

That calculator doesn't compare actual tires though unless I missed something.

A 285 tire could actually measure 283 or 287, and the aspect ration of 75 could be 77 or as low as 73.. So a 285/75R17 tire could measure between 33 1/4" and 34.4".

That's a big difference.
