need LED help
i ordered some LED bulbs for my dome and map lights from superbrightleds.com and recieved them today. i put them in the truck and they dont work really well so i need some help.

first off, the map lights dont turn on when i push the map light on. I can see them flicker, but they wont turn on, they only come on when i use the switch by my headlights. (the rolling wheel used to dim the dash lights, and turn the dome and cargo on/off). They also dont come on when i open my door, only the dome comes on.

The dome comes on when i use the switch i mentioned earlier. The only quirk the dome light has is now the led bulbs stay lit (but dimmed) after i turn it off. then about 30 seconds after they power down completely.

Can anyone tell me why the maps dont work and why the dome stays lit?

 

you need to get brighter led's the ones you got do not pull enough current to overcome the truck solid state devices. i had the same problem. superbright supplied mine if you will get the brightest ones that fit it works very well. i should have kept the part #'s but did not.

 

carl if you were to look at their website do you think you could tell me which ones you have?

 

Mine kind of act weird as well. Open the door they light up, close the door they dim down, the map lights go completely out but the dome light stay's on very very dim. So dim that the truck can sit for 2-3 days and not kill the battery. The map lights won't turn on with doors shut and pushing on the lense. Turn both on , then they light.
