I think that my music listening habits have damaged my speakers in the dash (Infinity). I would like to get a look at them, it appears that the portion of the upper dash where the speakers and defrost registers are is a separate piece. Can anyone who has removed it give me some pointers?

Try to get a finger or trim stick under the back edge on one side and pop the back side of the panel loose all across the dash. The front edge has a series of hook/pins that slide into recesses across the front. You will be able to see these by lifting up on the rear of the panel and shining a light in there. Firmly pull the panel to the rear starting at one corner. It comes out easily. I actually pulled mine out at a stoplight one time looking for a rattle!
