Need buying advice on a new Dodge
In the market to buy a new dieasel quad cab, initially look at a Ford, but after reading some stories about the powerstroke engine, I leaning towards the cummins platform.
If the sticker price for a commercial quad with flat bed is $34K, how much will the dealer discount with all incentives. I want to get all the discounts I can.
Spoke with one dealer and he said, because the truck I'm looking at is considered a fleet/commercial that the same incentives and discounts don't apply. Feels like I'm getting screwed.

PS... This is the model and setup I want http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/...m_chassis_cab/

I got an e-mail today from Dave Smith motors saying they have dealer incentives on 2006 models, which brings the price to 10,000. under MSRP.
The 6.7 is new, sure it's been road tested, but bugs may still be lurking, as with any new vehicle.
If you get a 2006 or 2006.49 it should have the proven 5.9 in it.

DON'T buy the 6.0L Powerstroke. I bought one and it was a nightmare . . .oil leaks, coolant leaks, fuel pump went out, just sold it yesterday, and bought my CTD a month ago. They still don't have the bugs out of the 6.0's.
My truck listed for $42760 and with a commercial and farm bureau insurance discount I got mine for $34670. I had 2 dealerships going back and forth. One was an hour from my house but I had heard they were the best place to buy one due to they would give you the best deal. I called a place 15 mins from home and told them the price the first place gave me and they matched it. They also are giving me 3 years free oil changes. I think it is best to have dealerships competing for your business that way you can tell who really wants your business.

I can't advise on a quad cab, but I can tell you my 04.5 is a great vehicle. No complaints; fuel economy is outstanding, and I am particularly impressed with the body integrity. I drive off road occasionally, and every day on washboard roads to my home. No rattles, no air leaks.
I do believe this, and I know it is no help when choosing: All the vehicles are better built than they ever used to be, and getting a lemon is a more matter of bad luck than a bad choice.

I made the salesman at the first dealership in Ada, OK (hour away from home) mad because I did things like I did. I told the one in Norman the price they gave me and they matched it. So with them being only 15 mins away from home and the Ada salesman acting crappy about me having them compete back and forth made my decision very easy. He told me maybe next time I shouldn't tell them his price to see how bad they wanted my business. What does the guy expect me to do? I laughed when he told me that. Why drive an hour when I can get the same truck for the same price 15 mins from home?
