Need Advice on a 04 3500 QC SRW 4x4

I am looking at a 04' 3500 QC 4x4 SRW w/ 29,600 miles and the dealer is telling me that bottom line is $27,000. They are going to replace all four tires. The truck looks really clean and the engine compartment looks immaculate and not just detailed. The truck was a local one owner truck that was used to pull his fifth wheel few times. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking? What else should I look for on the truck? This will be my first diesel truck and it will remain stock. I will us it to tow my Jeep and drive to work. Any advice would help.

Thanks

I picked up my 04.5 a month ago 3500, under 17000 miles,4x4, Laramie, shell, pac brake, juice with attitude, 100k warranty and a bunch of other goodies I paid 31,5 for it. I think I paid top dollar. So far it has been worth it.

Bought mine in July of 06 for 22.5k with 90k miles and change on it, it was stock except for the Ranchhand. There are deals to be had out there-27k for a 4 year old truck seems a little steep, even though the miles are low. You should check to see what packages it has-ST/SLT/Laramie, axle ratio (3.73 or 4.10), if its the 04 or 04.5 (check for a cat underneath and/or the sticker on the engine will say what hp # it is) and do a vin search at the very least. If "dealer" doesn't want to "deal," "deal" with someone else.

Price really depends where you are at.

I drove 3 hours to buy my '04 3500 SRW 4x4.

It had about 60K on it and I bought it for $23Kish.....it also came with $4K worth of extras and accessories.

If your financing you might want to really compare interest rates on new and used.At that money(27k) new might be better deal. The 5.9s out there are it.Get them(dealer)to pull/print you a BUILD SHEET.It will have all the truck is equiped with gearing/trans and what not. Also check the HOURS and divide into the mileage.Kinda get a idea of how it was worked etc.

Not a bad deal. I paid $30K for an 8900 mile 2006 3500 QCSB. It had the spray in liner and B&W gooseneck already installed. There are some really low mile 2006 and 2007 5.9s out there if you look carefully. Mine was listed on Autotrader and I jumped on it.

Thanks for the replies an advice. I am a proud owner of a 04' QC 4x4 3500 SRW Cummins Diesel. I paid $27,000 with only 29,600 miles and I didn't get eaten on my trade. I love to listen to that Cummins pur.

Thanks again.
