my edelbrock performer ais shock report

Had 'em installed Saturday. replaced stocks at 47600 miles.
Since then driven to LA and back on the 5 and 73. Freeway ride smooth. those famous rough expansion joints tamed to the point of being almost pleasant.
Broken pavement and rail road crossings, the difference is amazing. Rear end skitter and jolts all but eliminated.
Cornering lean seems to have been reduced as well. I use my truck for a grocery getter, comuter and most importantly it tows my tuna fishing boat.
Its a 4x4 but that only gets used on slippery launch ramps so I doubt you'll see an off road report from me. I'll report on the towing performance if anyone cares, once the fish get in range.
We'll see how these things hold up, right now I'm liking them alot.

I have tried various Edelbrock products and now the only things I will buy of theirs are heads, intakes and carbs. The shocks, mufflers, and headers were too expensive and big disappointments. I've had 3 sets of those shocks, half of them leaked with not very many miles on them, 2 broke the shock shaft. These were on 2wd vehicles, not offroad 4 x 4s. Those $100 mufflers sounded like $20 glasspacks and the $700 headers didn't fit any better than $100 cheapies.

We'll see,
Sorry to hear it
I had heard about early problems with these shocks. A good friend of mine is an engineer for edelbrock. He says the old problems are gone and these should be great. He wouldn't have recomended them if he didn't beleive it. He'd just have to listen to me whine. I'll report either way.

They may have fixed the problems I had. I bought those shocks 3-4 years ago for 3 different vehicles. Only 1 pair is still in place and that vehicle only gets about 1000 miles a year on it.
