My A/C Issues!

Hey all. First time poster here.
Been learning from the site for a while now so thanks.
Here is my issue. The passenger's side of my A/C blows warm while the drivers side blows nice and cool. Any thoughts?

Most likely just low on freon.

would bet that the blend door or more than one is broke behind the dash. If freon was low, then the compressor would either not kick on (safety feature so it won't burn itself up). If it is blowing cold on one side but not the other, I am wagering blend door. the compressor does not have the capability to choose what side is cold or hot. that is controlled with the blend doors within the AC/Heater casing behind the dash.

I've been doing a little research on this because I have the same problem just no time to take care of it right now, and from what some others here have said is it can either be low on freon or like you said blend doors, someone gave a good explanation of how it can be warm on one side and not the other (something about only half the evaporator cooling down and there is 2 blend doors that route air to different parts of the evaporator, or something like that) and some have cured it by a simple recharge. I checked the service manual for this symptom and the only solution they give is to recharge the system so I would try that first because changing out the blend doors requires dissasembling much of the dash and many have bad experiences with the dealerships doing this.

9 out of ten times this is the fix.

Because of the design, acceptable tolerance (by Dealer Standard) between sides is about 15*

If the freon is low, you have a leak.

The real problem is that the Dodge truck has a very poor quality A/C system for whatever reason(s).

I have spent over 1200 bucks having leaks fixed, compressors replaced, tipm reset, etc. I have had this truck for 3 years.

HOW MUCH DOES DODGE EXPECT ME TO SPEND ON THIS AC BEFORE I SURRENDER AND BUY A FORD?

Class Action Lawsuit..... ?

If I didn't need the 2500, I'd get that new 09 1500. So tired of all the little problems with the 03. But new truck= new problems.

Well, looks like I'm joining you today on money spent. Mine was blowing warm on passenger side last year so I had the refrigerant topped off and all was well. Now that we've had all the 100+ degree days this summer, the passenger side was really suffering. As you said, if it's low on refrigerant, there's a leak somewhere. Took the truck in this morning and was told I had three leaks, total would be around $1,100.00 to fix. New compressor, new condenser, etc.

Oh, and I'm living with a broken recirc door for now. I just tied it in place so it's always in the fresh air position, no recirc.

As has been said before, I love the Cummins but the Dodge wrapper leaves a lot to be desired. My truck is paid for, so it's cheaper to fix it and keep on going.

The recirculation door is a $35 fix and an hour of your time.

I like the sound of that as the dealer quoted $270.00 for the recirc door fix. Can you please enlighten me on this?

Thanks.

Why don't you third gen guys get together and go to a place like Vintage Air and have them make you a replacement box? I know they know how to do it 25X better than what you have, and if you had to spend the $$ 1 time to get it right, most would rather tnan spend it multiple times at the dealer........
