Thanks.
you buy the recirc door "part" from dodge, you get the whole door housing, actuator, and the little white spindle thing (mine cost 42.00).
Then you replace the door and the white spindle thing by sticking it up through the fan whole behind the glove box.

BUT, BEFORE you do you have to get the "flash" that makes the actuator turn the correct amount. the reason the doors break is because the actuator turns way too far I guess the flash fixes this. Now before everyone laughs me out of the building.....I was told this bit of hooey by the dealer so, there is my disclaimer. Having said that, my recirc door has survived almost 4 months. Sadly, my A/c is out again as of yesterday, freon leak I'm pretty sure.

Dale29, thanks for the reply. I called my local dealer and they want $58.00 for the replacement housing, called another one and they want $52.00, go figure. When I asked them about any need to reflash to adjust the actuator travel, the answer was no. I assume by your reply that your dealer did the reflash?

Anybody else have any experience with this reflash or not to reflash?

Thanks.

Next thing you know we'll have to reflash the ECM to get the windows to roll up and down right.

8mpg, thanks for the link. That really clears this little project up. Looks like I know what I'm doing Saturday morning.

I forgot to mention before that I can occasionally see mist, I assume this is water vapor, coming out of the a/c register. This only seems to happen on the driver's side vent next to the stereo.
Any ideas what this means? Is this evidence of a freon leak, condensor malfunction or something more sinister?
Thanks again. MN

I'm in for the Class Action Law Suit. Both of my 05's are down right now for A/C problems.

05 #1 100,000+ miles. In May the compressor quit working so I replaced it with a new Denso unit form Autozone. In July it started popping the A/C fuse every so often. Last week it popped (actually totally melted) the fuse again. This time it would pop instantly when putting a new fuse in. Today, I get a new compressor from Kragen and it instantly pops the fuse. I can plug my original compressor in and it will not pop the fuse. All the wires have been checked, new plug to the compressor, etc.

I'm at a loss.

Also today, 05 #2 45,000 miles. The A/C, recirc, or mirror defog lights on the HVAC control won't come on and the compressor doesn't engage either.

I'm a little upset tonight.

David

Don't get a rebuilt compressor. Most of the time they are crap right out of the box. Had to deal with that too many times before. Suck it up and buy a new one from Dodge.

I would but, Dodge is on a national back order with NO date on when they are coming in.

The first one I bought was new from Denso, the 2nd one was a reman.

I still think it's BS that all of us are having these problems.
