mud flaps-lower rocker panel protection
mud flaps-lower rocker panel protection
i have installed the factory mudflaps on my 03 2500.they look really nice and seem to work well, but the rocks do throw back aways on the rocker.i have had it 40 days and the lower rockers are taking a beating.i do live on 3 miles of dirt roads.little nicks through the clear coat.i talked to a aftermarket company, and he said he would do the 3m clear guard on the lower rockers to stop this.he would fix the nicks and chips and apply the 3m 6" up the lenght of all 4 doors for $159.00.any other suggestions short of line-x?there used to be on some of the older trucks it looked like a rough clear coat down there.havent seen it for a while.thanks.

There was a post somewhere here or at TDR by a guy who drives the alcan. He put on long mud flads like the ones I've seen at truck stops (Flying J for 10 bucks apiece). I need some also and the aftermarket stuff seems to me to be for looks. Fender flares of some sort too. Good post!<br>Phil

Had same problem with white '98 2500 CTD and had Ziebart treat lower rocker panels with black Rhino solution like they use inside the beds....Looked great and shines up nicely with the leather and dash treatment used inside. Took care of rock dings also..........Big Daddy

Yes, ditch the factory flaps. They're way too short, and not wide enough. You might be able to add a piece to the bottom of your flaps, but I don't know how they'd look. Mine might hang low, but they keep spray and stone off the rocker panels. www.kaydenco.com
