MPG Gauge not working

Just bought a 06 2500 Diesel and the guy had a Bully Dog in it but took it out before I picked it up. Could that have messed up the MPG digital display?
How can I reset Electronic gauge to make the MPG digital work again?

What do you mean by not working? What is showing on the overhead?

Numbers on overhead are 2.4 or 2.6 always a small number.
It doesn't show my actual mileage.

Not sure how to fix what you mention, but for what it's worth the MPG display's on these things are junk anyway. I haven't met, or read about, a person that had one that worked. Mines consistently off by 2 mpg's from my hand calc'd figure.

Yep, they are mostly known as overhead liars, and for good reason.

Did you reset it? I forget witch button it is (might even say "reset" I forget), anyway after each fill up I reset mine and this seems to keep it "more" accurate. The first couple miles after a rest bounces the numbers around crazy.

Mine's pretty consistently off by 10-12%, except when towing our RV. It's almost spot on or slightly 2-3% less than my calculated figures. It's funny... when not towing I deduct 2mpg.... and when towing I add .2 mpg.
