MPG - 2004 w/ flat bed

Gentlemen - I am looking at buying a 04 crew, diesel, automatic, srw, 4x4, 3:73, with a steel flat bed that looks to be the width of the cab of the truck and about 7 feet long.

Just curious if anyone has a similar truck to this and was wondering the type of mpg they get when pulling or shall I say hauling nothing.

I like the flat bed due to the practicality (hopefully my spelling is correct) but I believe the flat bed is a lot heavier than the stock box. Truck looks to be originally a long box wheel base.

Thanks for your responses.

Does anyone know of any mfg names for truck beds / flat beds.

Also - what is roughly the weight of a stock 8 foot box?

Lastly - what can a 2003 or 2004 w/ the SO motor pull with the class III hitch as far as weight is concerned? Assume 3:73 gears, srw and an automatic trans for a 2500 and can a 3500 pull anymore.

What weight can I put in the stock bed of a 2003 / 2004 based on the type of truck above for a 2500 and a 3500?

Thanks

Scott
