I have a 06 Dodge 2500 Big Horn 4x4 with a HO 5.9 Cummings engine . I don't pull anything except occasionaly a 20ft Travel Trailer . Right now I am getting 16 miles to a gallon , but only have 500 miles on the truck . What kind of mileage can I expect once the truck is broken in ? What chip is best for fuel milage ? Also would a chip void the warranty on the truck ? Thanks for any replys !

supposed to be the best box for its size. just do not get edge ez. to much rail pressure from what ive heard. good luck
When my truck was new (500 miles) with the stock Mich tires I got 19.5 on my first road trip. This was over a mt pass also.
Soon thereafter, I replaced the Mich with 285 BFG A/t KOs. I noticed about a 1 mpg drop off. After break in and over 15,000 miles, I think I was finally getting up to 19.5 again on a level hwy. My city/hwy average was about 17.2
I have towed my bro's 20+ foot boat over Santiam pass and last year got about 15+ while towing. I really don't know what his boat weights, but probably 5500. I also made a long trip up to northern Alberta towing my 16 foot trailer with 4 quads and hunting gear. Load was around 4800 lbs. Averaged about 14.5 if I remember, and that included going over the big hill rocky mts.
The BFG's finally got the wear, about 36,000 miles, so I replaced with Toyo M/T. A real rough ride, had them on for about 300 miles and noticed a big drop off in mileage. Took them back and replaced with Toyo A/Ts. Much better ride, E rated tire. Too soon to tell, but around town I'm getting about 16-17. Off to tomorrow on their first road trip.
My only major mod is a 4 inch exhaust MBRP. Probably helps towing temp, but not with mileage. Well, that's probably more info than you wanted.
