Most miles on a 3rd gen?

Wondering who has the highest miles out there. One guy posted he went over the 200k mark a few weeks ago? Anybody have one with 100k+ miles or more? What type of problems have you had?

I hope this will be interesting. I just bought a 04.5 cummins with 11k miles on it and hope it lasts to 200k with nothing major

I got a neighbor that just traded his 03 HO/6-speed with I know right at 100k miles for a 05 CTD. I have not been able to talk to him since he traded, I'm curious to know if he was having problems with the 03. He pulled a enclosed 20 to 22ft trailer daily for his business. One of our last talks was he thought that his injector pump may be going south, he didn't know for sure. He wasn't a real maintainence type of guy from what I had noticed. Always gave me a hard time when he seen me inspecting stuff on my truck. "What are you looking for now".

Two friends, one traded his his 4 months ago with 144k.03 6 speed 4x4.Pulled horses all over this side of the Mississippi. No problems.Still had original brakes, first set of tires went 90k.Only changed diff fliuds, trans.transfer case ONCE at 90k.Other has 90k just replaced tires,JUST serviced the 48re for the first time & differantal..Same brakes etc.Pulls a 2 horse bumper pull and a cargo trailer all over Ga.Kentuky,Tenn.etc.Both had the TSB for powersteering hose, one alt.bracket and one drivers seat lumbar support. No alignments,no belts.Just oil changes at 7500,fuel filters roughly every other oil change and air filters at 30k intervals. One truck, the auto only had TWO tire rotations in 90k.Both replaced tires with the same Michs that came on them. The one that traded at 144k just WANTED a new truck.Did not need a NEW truck.Got a 05 dually 4x4 auto.It has had a belt, tensioner, door weatherstrips, has a harmonic hum at 70mph(they ordered a front yoke and u'joints. Its been no where near the truck the 03 was. He's dissapointed.Fuel mileage is WAY off what the 03 got towing.

A good friend of mine has almost 100k on his 03, 4x4, 6sp. He gets 19+mpg on the highway at 70. He still thanks me for recommending the Dodge/Cummins to him. I had my '99 then. Anyhow, he says it's the best truck he's ever owned.

I'm pushing 90k on my '03 HO 6 spd. about 70k of that I've had a EZ on it.
only problems have been power steering hose, all U-joints in the DS, U-joint on drivers side of the front axle, cracked alt bracket, and falling apart seat foam in the drivers seat.

Nothing too major, in my opinion. Been changing the oil and fuel filter every 7500-9000 miles. Mileage is excellent, reliability had been amazing.

I guess I am the one with over 200k on my truck, there are a number of others. As of right now it is 203,276 miles. I have has some problems, but you have to remember this is a hotshot truck. It pulls a big G/N trailer daily. My maintaince book is out in my truck but some of the problems I can think of off hand are the power steering problems I have posted about, I have lost my main injection pump at 149k miles. My limited slip wasn't working from the first, was replaced under warranty, alt. bracket cracked, replaced under warranty, fan clutch at about 100k, rear u-joint at about 130k, brakes at 175k, tires are lasting about 70 - 80k, on my third set now.

The truck will be going into the shop next month for some major work. Needs ring and pinion gears replaced, howls like a hound dog, the upper ball joints are gone and the fan clutch is gone again. I am planning on keeping the truck so I will spend the $3k or so to get it fixed up to keep going. I am hopeing to be able to keep the truck until Dodge comes out with a 4500 or 5500. If they don't do that I am afraid my next truck will be a small Freightliner or International. The truck has plenty of power, but a 1-ton just won't hold up to what I am asking it to do.

i only have 70k on my 03, but have had some problems.....
here is the list of item that required replacing.
intercooler boot -shredded
a-pillar grab handle busted
transfer case blown- trashed gears
u-joints (rear)
tires first set less than 30k
left rear brake caliper stuck, replaced pads, caliper, rotor
front brakes
turbo
injectors
injector pump

all of those repairs were in the first 50k or so. it seems as though the truckis running fine now (until the next breakdown, lol)

i haul heavy loads daily with this truck and i change the oil between 7-10k
my typical load is grossing in the 30-35k range.

Well, except for the belt, right Britt? Same here, about 10,500, except for my belt.

I bought mine at the end of April in 04, about 10 months ago, and now have just over 46K on it. No problems except I am wearing a hole in the carpet next to the accelerator.

AWESOME GUYS!!
Nice to see some positive posts.

Most people only post with negative feedback on these trucks.
But I am impressed with my 04.5, most of the stuff that has broke on it is because of me!!
