mopar slide out tow mirrors
mopar slide out tow mirrors
does anyone have a pic of the glass portion? Curious if they have the stick on spot morrors, or do they have an integrated one like other mirrors. Are they made by ****, or Mopar?
Unlike ther regular **** ones which require stick on mirrors, on the Mopar versions of them the spot mirror is integrated into the glass similar to the Mopar flip out tow mirrors. If I have a chance, I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.

thanks for the pics. too bad it is integrated the way it is. the New 2010 mirros did fix some of the issue, I just would prefer a vertical mirror, closer to the cab for daily driving.
PaulG, what is your opinion on use of these mirrors, over the flip out style, have you tried both? is visibility any better with this style?
CD in NM, you have a pm.

plug ugly - Sent you pics to your work addy. Also answered your PM.
I have to say that I am very pleased with these mirrors. The DO increase your visibility tremendously. The spot mirror is very functional as well. The old flip outs were a PITA to see out of even when flipped out, not as much width as these elephant ears are, and width is also important. While you could manipulate the electrical stuff to move/turn the mirror, that was a PITA sometimes, mirror motor is really slow.
Even with them retracted, you have a good view around an 8' wide trailer, extended, the view is awesome. I'd get another pair in a heartbeat, in fact, I'm putting a set on my Ford PU I like them so much.

Sorry my truck was dirty too, guess that goes with winter. Where I am parked in those pics does not give a good view as it would going down the road and seeing the road behind, but the pics DO give you an idea of what can be seen in the spot mirrors and down the truck sides.
The mirror heads are 11"s tall and 10"s wide, a little bigger than the stock mirrors are both directions. They sit 17"s to the outside edge retracted, and 21/22"s extended. Because of their size, you kind of get an optical illusion that they are in closer to the truck, but they are actually out further than meets the eye.

With that said the slide out mirrors also took me a little while to get adjusted to on the passenger side, but I attribute that mostly to getting comfortable with a flat glass mirror on the passenger side. (My previous '99 2500 didn't have towing mirrors.) I definately rely more on the spot mirror on the passenger side to see cars than are right on my quarter panel or bumper. However, I've now had these mirrors over three years, and I like them. I agree with what has been said in previous posts, the mirror head is actually much bigger than what the pictures make them out to be and that makes them look closer to the truck than they actually are. In fact, I almost never slide them out when towing because I can still see fine; but my trailer is only an 18ft. And as an added bonus, the lights look really cool at night.
