Mopar oil?
Mopar oil?
This may have been discussed before but I'm fairly new here. Who makes Mopar oil? I asked the local dealer today when I was picking up a filter and he said it use to be Chevron but he thinks it is now Mobil, but wasn't sure. I want to use the same oil because my dealer will be doing my scheduled maintance but I wanted to change now at 2000 miles. If it is mobil (or something else) I'm sure I could save some nickles by buying it at Wal mart.
I believe the 15w40 that is in the CTD off the lot is Valvoline Premium Blue. That is what most here think it is, although I haven't read anywhere that it is a fact.
I think the Mobil oil your dealer is talking about is for the hemi's.

Buy Rotella T synthetic. 16 bucks a gallon at Wal mart. So you will need 3 of them. But seems to me you can easily go to 8k with out an oil change. I was one of those 3-4k oil changers now. Now that I changed over to Rotella syn I can't believe how quiet my motor is running

I buy Premium Blue from Adanced and the bottles have the big blue Cummins "C". I believe Valvoline also made the ATF+4 before DC released the license for Valvoline to go retail with it.

Well I went and bought Mobil Delvac 1300. I dought one oil change will not hurt if it's not the same. Does anyone have a bottle of mopar oil? If it says manufactured by Ashland oil co, then it is Valvoline.
As a side note, My dealer gave me a warranty that states if I do all my scheduled fluid changes with them they will warranty any lubricated mechanical part for as long as I own the truck, unlimited miles. This means if the tranny, engine, axles, transfer case goes out at 100,000, 200,000, 300,000... they replace it at no cost to me. Anyone heard of this from any dealer? And yes I do have a contract on this.

I like it and have had no problems using it.
