Mineral Grey or Silver Truck ????
I dunno offer them $23,000 and work from there. I'd go up maybe as high as $24,500 and walk if they wouldn't. You'll still have taxes, title, and tags on top of that. If you end up walking it may be that they call you the next day and say come get it. What have you got to lose. Seems a fair price to me but that's just seat of the pants I don't know what trucks like that go for in Pittsburgh.
On second thought maybe start at 22k and stop at 24K. These guys say no more 22K to 25K on a truck like that of course if it's really clean and well taken care of it'll be worth the higher end there.
Imagine if the bottom fell out of whatever you were doing and you needed to liquidate it?
Could you realistically ask 26K? Heck no. Could you get 25K? Prolly not....If you needed to unload that truck you would be looking at 23K from a private source and 21K if you found the right dealer. Wholesale on an 05' 2500 with a Cummins is and low miles is right at 21K in Colorado.
The huge discounts on the new models is driving the market right now. If you can buy a new one for 11K off the sticker or say 32K whats the true cost of that 08 to the dealer after his holdback and advertising fund? 30K? 29K? So if a dealer can get all the new 08's he could ever wat at less than 30K that makes our 3 year old models worth a whole heckuva lot less than whatever crazy Kelly or NADA book they may produce.

I here ya. I'm looking at that one and a 2 tone dark grey and silver with a little more miles on it but it is loaded. I'll let everyone know which one I end up with. There are not many used trucks here for sale in the Pittsburgh area. The dealer has had to widen the search to other states. The 2 tone truck has had a injection pump replaced under warranty and some injectors under warranty. Anyone see any problems with that? Pete
I have the mineral grey, looks sharp when it is clean, but hard to keep it that way.
I think the silver is easier to keep "looking" clean...
The dark grey is a lot like having black.. shows everything..

You have a dealer looking for used Rams in other states?
Why not just hop a plane to Texas where the Ram trucks are cheap plentiful and unharmed by road salt...Get one bought and drive her home?
(Oops...Just looked on E-Bay....Derned Cummins powered trucks are bringing a small fortune in Texas!)
Depends on how often you want to clean it. Silver is kinda bland really but I get my truck washed once every 4-5 weeks and just spray it off at the car wash once a week on avg. Stays pretty clean for the amount of work that goes into it.
On a used truck I'd offer somewhere between trade in value and private party value... KBB.com

Rednecktastic, Do you have the darker grey truck???? The dealer is helping me look because I'm friends with the owner and they are giving me $7000 for my current truck. That translates into 7500 because I save $7000 in taxes on the new truck price at 7%. Pete
I don't think so but I have pics in my gallery. Like i say I get the truck washed (run through the tunnel and hand dried) like every 4-5 weeks and spray it off once a week to get the salt water off it mainly since I live on the coast.
On trade ins that old they're gonna give you wholesale.

They are giving me wholesale. I had it listed around here for 8000 and no one even came to look at it. It needs new rockers and doors. They are rusted pretty good. So I'll just take the $7000 which is really $7500. Pete
I'm there with ya. Had 2 black trucks and they were sweet when clean. Had to go with the metallic silver on this one as I needed a truck fast for my business and there were NO Black Laramie's to be had within 800 miles at the time of purchase. The silver has grown on me AND it is the most popular color. I feel the silver shows the dirt too. Looks nasty with all that road salt, but easier to keep clean looking.
I guess I have a big decision to make. I might be able to get a better deal on the higher mileage, Mineral Grey truck with the light silver on the bottom. It has everything I want so far. Cab marker lights, Forged aluminum wheels, rear slider, tow package, converter lock up, 11.5 rear axle, anti spin differential, Power Trailer tow mirrors, etc.....
