MegaCab...WOW

I sat in a MegaCab yesterday at the Edmonton 'home show'. Holy crap the back seat legroom is endless, the door is huge. My wife liked it so much she said, "We have to get one!" After seeing pictures, I thought I would not like it...Dakota front end, huge C pillar...but I was wrong, I like it a lot. Now, the one on display there is a little out of my price range at $64,000 but a fairly base automatic diesel would be about $47,000. The price list he showed me even had wholesale prices, he said, "Pretend you don't see those." I said, "Ah my dealer showed them to me last time anyway." The wholesale was about 10% less than retail which is what I found when I bought my '03 (options were about 20% less than retail). Just have to wait until they hit the showrooms, supposedly this coming week, and see what their financing will be. I'd better not get too excited.

Ouch!

Yeah, that's Canadian dollars. $53,817.69(US). Yikes! I think my '03 purchased at $45,000Cdn translated into about $32,000US at that time which was in the neighbourhood of US pricing. We are no longer longer in the neighbourhood if you compare it this way now. Even at "wholesale" that truck at the home show would be about $55,500, I'm guessing, which in US dollars would be $46,670! That seems a little high doesn't it? I assume you can get a hellovalotta truck for $40,000US.

The truck is huge. I got to check one out at the state fair, Dodge had a few of their new models for show. I would never need a truck that large. But then again I don't tow large trailers or have a family to lug around.

The interior was nice and very spacious, like stated earlier the back was just...Mega!

Then I walked over to the Chevy tent and sat in a new Vette.

All they need to do now is put a real bed on the thing and I'll bite. I need every bit of the long bed and my son's dirtbikes are getting bigger each year. Putting 4 fullsize bikes in a shortbed looks like the Beverly Hillbillies are coming to town. I hope Dodge steps up.

Buying a trailer would be a whole lot cheaper.

I've already got the trailer. 31'toybox. That's where the Jeep goes. Taking toys for 4, three dogs and all the other stuff...blah blah. I just hope they build a Long Bed. It's not too much to ask, they already make the damb beds. Extend the frame, driveshaft, a few cables and wires then rock on!
