Megacab not moving
Megacab not moving
I talked with my dealer today and he said that the Megacabs are sittin on the lots and not moving. They have 4 at one store and like 20 at the other and none are selling. They only sold 3 since its intrduction. He said that its not only here its national, and he beleives its because its so long.If thats true hold out on purchasing your Megacab, cause they will be blowing em out soon.He won't even order a Megacab dually for his lot, unless a coustomer orders it.
I will say this. I just got driving 600 miles today. I saw the followng 06's:
QC DRW - 3
QC SWB - 1
They all saw my MC.
I don't think they are selling that well in the midwest. I just don't see that many on the road. I might see 1-2 a week driving 1000-1500 miles weekly in 2-4 states. I do see a lot of 06 DRW's. Those seem to be the hot choice. I do see a lot of MC's on the dealer lots though.

I have had my Mega Cab for a month and a half, and other than the one I own......I have seen one other Mega Cab.
I don't think they are selling for 2 reasons.
A 160 inch wheelbase.
A window sticker that can easily exceed 50k.
Its not that Dodge hasn't done a good job of advertising. I just think that the average truck owner has a hard time parting with 40k+ for a Mega Cab, when a 35k Chevy Duramax will get the job done.
I know I had a hard time convincing my wife that a Mega Cab was worth the money.

I am seeing more of them on the road now. Maybe 6 or so in the last couple weeks. DC is trying to push the price envelope on them, IMO. THe big cab is sweet, but not worth $5k more than a Q/C or another brand of crew cab.
In Denver they are not moving very fast. Had been shopping for one up there for a while, and a couple dealers I went to had the same trucks parked in the same spot on their lots for over a month. I think end of the year will be a good time to buy one.

I feel only offering the MC in a shortbox also is hurting them. Most folks out here in the west tow horse/flatbed trailers and need the long bed to haul things. The extra room in the cab doesn't offset the disadvantage of the short bed.
Can't be because they're too long. It's because they're simply waaaay overpriced. I was looking at a 1500 Mega Cab/Hemi on a Phoenix lot last weekend and the thing was stickered at 45K. That's how much my truck was stickered at loaded with a CTD. They're gonna have to lower prices.

I've seen a few on the roads here, and the loaded ones seem to be leaving the lots quick. I know I had a heck of a time finding a 3500 Laremie out here.
The price is a bit steep, but it's leaps and bounds nicer than my 04 quad. The extra space really makes a HUGE differance hauling the family around. Very nice truck for the price IMO. Mine stickered for 52k, got it under invoice for 43k, and then 60 0% interest on top of that... Not sure how you can beat it.....
I personally don't think you will be able to beat the deals you can get on them right now with the NO interest for 60 months that's going on.
1500 miles on the truck so far and pulling with the truck for the first time in the morning.... can't wait.
