Good luck...
Ha, you kidding right?! Police will do nothing. With cuts everywhere due to current economy, they dont have resources for petty crime. Heck, in Atlanta, after many violent crimes, including few murders, residents were told that it is their job to make themselves safe, not a Police

Getting a police report will make your insurance claim easier though.
I feel for you man, and hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.

ya there needs to be way tougher penalties for criminals that get caught. burtal things like broken fingeres and shattered knee caps so they cant walk or steal for a long time, and the memory never goes away, so they remember to never ever do it again

That's what I don't understand. Theives have to know that Texas is probably the CHL leader in the U.S. They risk their lives, literally, for a radio that they might get $100 for. I would not draw on someone unless I felt threatened, but if a theif crawls out of my truck with a screwdriver or a pry bar then that's a weapon to me and IT'S ON! Makes no sense to me. But, our current judicial system is there to protect them, not us. So they know they have full control.

That sucks, sorry.

I had that happen to my old Suburban.

2am I get a knock on the door from a police officer. The neighbor across the street happened to be up having a Cig outside and saw it happen, yelled at them and they started running to attack the neighbor, the neighbor jumped over his own fence (Didn't have time to unlock the door) and called the police. I went for a ride with the police where they found a pile of stereos and other electronics that were thrown out of a car on a Court a few blocks away. My stereo was recovered, but my dash was destroyed along with the stereo trim and harness.

Sorry for your loss, I had it happen to me one time also on my old truck. In fact to add insult, they used my garage door opener, opened my garage door and used my tools to remove the stereo, amps, and subs, along with a case of 150 cd's.

I always thought that installing another train horn under the seat or behind the dash to go off with an alarm system would be a bigger deterent then just the one outside, because it would be hard to work with you hands over your ears. Just make sure you wire it to not go off with people in the truck (wife or girlfriend )...

Now I just leave the factory unit there (one day I might replace speakers or add a amp), I always hated going into a remote location (hunting, camping, over night boating trip) and worrying about someone having all night to work over my stuff...

I have had this happen twice in the last 3 months. The first time $2,200 cost me to repair it and the second time cost me $3,600.

make sure you guys that pull guns on criminals are quick with it. I had a gun pulled on me one time, before it got high enough to shot at me I had it out of their hand and pistol slapped the guy. He was the criminal.

Be happy you still have your truck. My 05 was stolen 2 weeks ago, I got a call from my daughter at 10:30 seeing if I was messing with her and moved the truck..... NOPE, called the cops and I went to pick her up.... Cop wanted to talk about it, I told him to just take the info and put it in the computer cause I doubt they will find the dang thing, likely in mexico by the time she found out it was gone 3 hours later..... That was the truck that had all my mods on it.... prolly $10k in aftermarket stuff...... lift, rims, tires, nfabs, every piece of lighting you could change out was changed out with HID or LED, plus the performance mods from intake to exhaust and computer stuff....... bummer.... i wish they just took my stereo, dang thieves.....

My truck would have to be towed to get it. Alarm and Ravelco kills the ignition. Smarty turned down to 01 only drives at about 5 mph top speed. And Lo-jack finds it pretty quick.

In November, someone smashed out the passenger side window in my truck......while sitting in my driveway

The window was $150, $20 for new tint, $150 for all new window weatherstripping, about $200 in paint work on the door, and they stole a $350 GPS and damaged the dash, trying to get my Alpine deck out
