Lowered back of dually today
The back of my truck was a little too high for towing my 5er so I moved the spacers to the top of the spring pack today. Not a bad job other than the rust and dirt whenver you work on brakes or suspension.
The only problem I had was jacking up one side at a time I seem to have moved the axle housing a little bit ( the plate on top for the U Bolts is slotted ) as the truck pulls slightly to the right now. I guess I will jack up both sides, loosen off the bolts and try to square it up. Overall I am pretty happy, the truck is about two incles lower at the tailgate and I think it even looks a little better. BP.

Sorry I haven't posted any pics yet... just been real busy. I followed the same thread you listed, took me a Saturday after noon w/o any air tools. I took the back wheels off and did it while I was rotating my tires.
It took me a little longer as when I had it on stands under the axle my floor jack wouldn't go high enough to lift the springs the 6" you need to get the bolts out ( these trucks are so high )... so I lowered the stands as low as they would go, but with the front wheels blocked this seemed to change the positioning of the axle just enough that the bolts wouldn't center in the spring perch... so after plenty of prying, a bit of hammering, raising and lowering the housing a couple of times I managed to get lined up. I am not a mechanic so I seem to always find a way to make these jobs a little more difficult than they should be, but at the end of the day I am happy with the way it turned out. BP.
