LORENZ 2.25 Suspension

Well, after three years of using 2 inch coil spacers, I invested in the Lorenz Industries 2.25 Sway Away system, with the plush ride 3" coils. In addition, I got the dual purpose rear leafs. It is a night and day difference between how it re-packages the bumps, dips, curbs, potholes, two-tracks, etc., verses the stock suspension. Plus, at Lorenz's recommendation, I got the Firestone Ride Rite airbags to keep me leveled when I tow bigger loads. It's amazing to have this big heavy duty work truck perform like this! I want to jump it!

If you don't mind me asking what did it set you back. If you want to do it in a PM that's cool.

Thanks

I paid the advertised price on his websight, Lorenzindustries.com, with the forum discount. I was going to get Sean's 5100 Bilstein setup, but the generous forum discount changed my mind. No regrets here!

Where on this site does it mention discounts from suppliers?

Did you have to phone up to order your system in order to get the discount?

I was thinking of a leveling kit with shocks, maybe more.

My 2.25 Lorenz has served me well. It's been on for almost 2 1/2 years now. Sean revalved my old Kore Chase system on the '98.5 and made it functional. I do wish I'd gone for the standard coils though. These 23% ones are pretty stiff even with the camper.

There is a link for Forum members at the bottom of the 2.25 and 2.5 system pages. I don't know if it applies to the 5100 or leveling systems. For me, the discount brought the 2.25 system within reach.

Danderson, I also debated between the plush ride and the HD coils. It's hard sometimes when there are too many choices. I got the plush ride.

Show us some pictures... I want that exact setup minus the airbags.

My camper's on all the time and that's why I went with the stiffer ones. It's got excellent highway handling, but offroad it's pretty stiff. The plush's would have been too soft, but the standard 6% ones with Thuren's poly bumpstops may have been just right. When the camper's gone someday I've got my eye on another setup that'll compliment the Carli LT bags I'm running.

Thuren's got great stuff from what folks say. If my steering ever gives me trouble, I think I'll get his track bar.

You make a good point. My truck is unloaded 95% of the time.

I promise some pictures as soon as I get back from Tennessee next week.

I have this system with the HD coils for the Ranchhand front replacement. No complaints. Something I didn't expect, it really helped the road manners of the truck. You will be happy.

That's great to know, shonne. In October, I'll really be able to test it good on the two-tracks of Michigan's Upper Pennisula.
