Guys, Last winter I had my partners Ford F350 6 uhoh with a wide load in the back. We had a big blizzard just like today and they didn't clear the parking spaces. I pulled into the snow bank of a parking spot and went into the bank. A tractor was clearing the parking spaces and cleaned right up to the back bumper. I waited till he finished and hoped in the truck and backed up to get out. I was a little hung up so I had to go back and forth 3 times....When I finally pulled out I looked back I saw a car in the space behind me that was really smashed in the front.....ooooppppps. This idiot girl pulled into the no parking zone behind me while I was backing up the first time jumped out and ran into the bank. According to the guy who was standing watching I hit her the first time took out the bumper, the second time I took out the grill and the third time I took out the rad, the hood and the fenders. Not even a scratch on the truck. It was a 1988 mazda 323. The owner worked at an autobody shop and told me he wanted $1800 to fix it ....I dragged it out for a month then told the insurance guy to handle it. I got it taken as a weather related no fault claim on my insurance. My partners insurance went up $50 a year which it probably would have anyway. Now I have a receiver with a rubber dock bumper on it. Nice and low so I just take out the bumper or airbags. ks

A 6" drop ball mount w/2 5/16" ball will go nicely thru bumper covers and a/c condensors.
been there, done that... early 90's honda civic into the back of my tahoe when i had her... no damage to my truck, that car was a write off though i think. condensor and rad punctured, rad upper crossmember and hood bent all to crap.. oriental driver steps out and says "no insurance no insurance" i say ok, snap a few pictures of his car, my tahoe and his licence plate, then leave...

my ram had that same reciever on it, but currently has a home made pintle plate which is waiting to accept a 2"x6"x24" 1/4" C channel piece which will be spring loaded with 4 ±250lbs weight springs... will make a nice step to reach into the bed, and will give a bit when i back into the guard rail behind my parking spot at work [my drop reciever and ball slipped under and behind the guard rail once.. not fun when you have a key lock pin and no key to remove the lock & pin to remove the recivever without distroying the guardrail ]

Don't forget about the rice burners who pass you, pull in front real close, then let up on the go-pedal. That's when I'm glad I have an air horn.

Backup story - buddy of mine had a truck with 36" swamper tires and 6" lift- he worked at a car dealership. A triumph TR7 (remember the ones that looked like a wedge?) was parked real close behind him and he didn't do his usual walk around....you guessed it, he backed up and onto the hood of the Triumph, barely noticed until one of the mechanics came out of the shop screeming and waving his hands to stop! Customer who owned the TR7 was a little PO'd, but they fixed it. He now parks on the street when he goes to work.

both my rams have big 8-10" drop hitches that offer excellent tailgater clearance - also works great on parking lot pedestrians...

I hate to urinate in you guys' corn flakes, but let me give you another perspective. I was driving home yesterday in my white Acura 3.2TL-S and pulled up in the left turn lane behind a Ford 6.ohno F-250 SooperDoody with about an 8" lift. Two teenage boys were in the truck. While we were waiting for the light to change, the driver decided to shut the truck off, fire it up with his foot to the floor and cover my car with soot. He thought that was fun, I guess.

So, we turn left, I stay well back until we come to the next traffic light. I'm in the right lane to make a right turn. He's about 4 carlengths back in the left turn lane. When the left turn arrow comes on, the line starts moving, and when he gets next to me - another smokeout.

Now, I hadn't done anything at all to these guys, but I can guarantee you that I wasn't sharing their amusement yesterday evening. So, the next time you decide to smoke someone out, I really hope you reserve it for someone who has done something to deserve it.

A four inch drop with a 2 5/16 ball will also crator a drivers door on a new model Ford.

I live in town on a narrow residential street for now and these jerks insist on parking directly behind my driveway on the other side of the street. They have a driveway, but refuse to park in it. So, one night when I was late for a band gig, I chunked my guitars in the truck and I backed up without looking or thinking and WhAmMMo! I crushed the door so hard I could stick my hand between the roof and the top of the door. When I looked at my truck, I had some blue paint on my ball! That was it. I love our big trucks!

I wonder if a winsheild wiper squirter would have enough pressure to send a hose to the rear of the truck and put a squirter just above the bumper and hide it under the tailgate. They get too close, WASHY WASHY!!!

agreed, i don't play with folks who aren't playing with me.

but i figure once you flip a guys wife off, you deserve whatever you get.

those guys were just being butts to you, prolly showing his buddy the tricks.

you know what though?

sometimes, i just give folks some extra room, because i was once young and stupid, like loud stereos, i had a few ground POUNDERS in my time (would rattle change on the table in the house) so i figure these young punks now are paying me back for when i was booming out the old-farts.

Speaking of getting flipped off... The the other day I was headed out west and got the bird because I passed this younger lady in a little pos honda. She was doing 57 in a 60 and I was behind her long enough. What made me made was not her finger..is was that she had three young kids in the car! What kind of role model mom does this? Even worse, now in about 10 years, there will three more little jerks on the road with no courtesy or manners! She had Kansas plates....figures......

OK, my point is that a smokeout looks a little different from the other side of the exhaust pipe - especially when it isn't "deserved".

Speaking of getting flipped off, I was cruising around the other day and this little POS decides that he wants to ride my bumper. Why, I dunno. I was running 75 in a 70 and I was in the far right hand lane with an open left hand lane next to me. I figure that the guy is lazy so I move into the left hand lane to let him pass me on the right and the little sucker follows me. Ok. I had had enough at this time so I turned the comp up a couple (ok 5) notches and proceeded to slow down to about 60 and then roll into the throttle up to 75. Sure enough, I lost the road and the little thingy on my rear end. After the smoke clears the little sucker is still there so I give him a second dose. Sucker is still there. At this point my adult side had relinquished control to my teenager side. There's a car in the right hand lane that's doing 60mph. So I pulled up beside him and slow down to match his speed. I figure that if this guy ain't gonna pass me after a couple of good smoke shows then I guess he just wants to stay behind me. So finally, I get tired of driving slow and give this guy one more good smoke show. The guy pulls up next to me and is such a pansy that when he flips me off he pulls the sun blocker down and covers his face with it and sticks his finger out the window. That did it. At that point he was all mine. So for the next 5 miles this little guy had to endure a horrible waste of fuel on my part. If he had just flipped me off the correct way then I wouldn't have had a problem but he had to do it in the most chicken stuffing way he knew how. Oh well. Anyways, I only save my smoke for those who deserve it.
