A little different HVAC issue

I searched and searched but didn't find anyone posting about this...

I have a 2004 Laramie with the dual zone climate control. Last week I noticed something odd. The passenger side is working exactly as designed and has no issues. However the driver side is not.

Here are symptoms: when I go from full cold to full hot the air changes to hot. When I slide from full hot to full cold the air goes to cold. If I change to any level in between there is no change in temp. So If I go from full hot to almost full cold the sir is still very hot. Same thing with adjusting from cold to almost hot, stays cold. So I basically have to have full hot or cold air.

Any ideas?

I'm just throwing at the wall here. Is it vacuum controlled? I could see a slight vacuum leak allowing that to happen.

I'm 99% sure no. I had lost cruise control about a year ago and in my research found the CC system is the only thing that runs on vacuum. It even has it's own pump just to provide the vacuum.

Good thinking though. The weird thing is how it does go from hot cold just nothing in between. Tells me it is working in some capacity?

Go it solved...a zip tie broke allowing the SiriusXM receiver to fall down blocking the driver side actuator arm. Not sure why it was still working at full cold and full hot but I moved it and all is working now.

SiriusLY? This is probably the least expensive fix for a RAM HVAC system repair.
Back to morning brew . . .
