Your right , I did have a grid heater on my 91 and I am embarrassed to admit I forgot . I got to many diesels around here but wasn't there also a heater on top of the fuel filter that warmed the fuel for cold weather starts ?

Yes, there is a fuel heater between the head and fuel filter. Now, instead of Hail Mary's, go do a couple hot laps in a BOMBed 12 valve

Just to add an undervalved bit to the discussion, I disable my grids unless it's going to be consistently under 20*f.
