Your right , I did have a grid heater on my 91 and I am embarrassed to admit I forgot . I got to many diesels around here but wasn't there also a heater on top of the fuel filter that warmed the fuel for cold weather starts ?

Just to add an undervalved bit to the discussion, I disable my grids unless it's going to be consistently under 20*f.
that's funny because you're about the 10th person i've heard of (including myself) that swears that this is the first year that the grid heater draw has been this pronounced. i've owned my '05 since new as well as several other ctd's and all have seen their share of winter and have never seen the draw like this before... absolutely no explanation???
I noticed he had Florida as his loc., how many days a year does he get that would allow the function to even work?
