lift kit?

I am contemplating putting a lift in my truck. i just put a set of new 315/70-17 goodyear duratracks on it today. The truck has a revtek leveling kit on it rite now and I have run this set up since I bought it new in 06. Ju st thinking about a lift for something different now and I am looking at the skyjacker 4-4.5" kit. I don't want a monster truck and I plan on keeping my stock wheels for off set/expense's too. but a little lift would just look nice I think. Any way, other than the kit what expenses and/or problems could I expect from this? any input or sugestions would be much appreciated. The truck is an 06 Megacab SLT 2500 CTD 4x4 it is silver and and stock other than the larger tires and the revtek leving kit. Any thoughts or sugestions?

Are you thinking roughly 4" for the front and 2" for the rear? If so, then you shouldn't see any problems. You should be ok to leave everything relatively stock. For the rear, you should be able to simply put in some blocks and be done. The brake lines and pinion angle should be just fine. Up front, you might want to consider some sway bar end links or a sway bar drop bracket. You also might be pushing the limits of the stock control arms. As you lift it, you increase the angle of the arms in relation to the ground. That also pushes your axle back. I guess what I'm getting at is - you can put some 4" springs in up front and technically still be fine, but there are lots of little things that you could do to improve it, such as all the little drop brackets that come with most kits. There are lots of ways to help bring the steering geometry to the stock numbers. Did you have a specific kit in mind, or were you going to just buy parts and put your own "kit" together? Also (and this is purely opinion), I think 315's are the perfect size for a leveled truck. Would you still run those tires with the lift, or did you mean that you would be looking for larger tires?

I like the way it looks as is. Put some flares on it and call it good. Nice looking truck buddy.
