leveling kit

leveling kit
I have an 08 4x4 TD mega cab. I use the truck every day for work, with alot of freeway driving, so I don't want to sacrifice drivability. I already don't clear in a couple of parking structures at buildings I work in, so I really don't want to lift it either. For play we pull our lil ol toy hauler and a few quads out to Glamis, and Pismo. I have got stuck in the sand more times than I care to count and know I need to get some good tires on this thing. I can get some 35x12.5 R18 Toyo open country m/t tires for a really good price. I looked at Carli 2.0 leveling kit which includes , Sway bar end links, multi-rate front coils and Bilstein 5100 series internal reservoir shocks and says it will accomodate 35's. It is designed for my truck, but 8 bills seem kinda high to me. Who else makes a similar kit for the Dodge?

I put a 2.0 on my truck and with 35s on 9'' rims w/5.5" backspacing my pass. side tire rubbed the wheel well liner at the bottom rear at full lock left turn. It was scary close to the rubbing the fender too. I changed the control arms to remedy that problem. I personally have no experience with any suspension parts but Carly's stuff. It works well for me and they are good to customers, they fielded several calls from me cordially when I was putting my suspension upgrade on.

Any reason you don't want to use a 2" coil spacer? $65 shipped and you know exactly what you're gonna get unlike ordering springs. Also, it's a very fast install.

I think I'm going to go with 33's instead of the 35's. I can leave the suspension stock with the 33's(295 70R 17), + I can still use the stock wheels. What I save on the leveling kit, and new wheels more than offsets the money I can save on the tires.

Why don't you go 285/75/17 (34") Not as WIDE and TALLER. Still leave suspension stock and stock wheels.

Because I want wider, and not taller. I go to the sand dunes quite a bit and want more footprint in the sand. Taller doesn't help me in my trucks working life, because I have to park in parking structures often, and already don't make it in a couple, and am real close on a few others with the truck stock. Otherwise I'd throw a 6" lift on it with some 37's and call it good.
