Laptop Mounts?

I'm looking for some sort of a Laptop mount that I can set my laptop onto on the center seat, folded down, (I have the 6 speed and use it as an armrest). I'd like to set the laptop on the center seat back, and have it able to pivot 180 degrees from the driver to the passenger, WITHOUT launching through the window during emergency stops!

I didn't want to go the route of one of the fancy mounts that goes beneath the passenger seat and has an arm that comes up and holds the laptop.

How is this for thinking out aloud? Well, on second thoughts, the word 'thinking' may be stretching it.
Buy a small lazy susan and using strong flat elastic attach the lazy susan to the top of your armrest. Then find a way to attach your laptop to the lazy susan.

Re:Laptop Mounts?

I can use the center seatbelt to hold down some sort of a laptop mount from moving, however, any type of a device that can pivot, like a lazy susan, will also need some sort of mechanical "stops" and a release so that it can HOLD in that position, and not go around like a 33rpm record while I drive

Re:Laptop Mounts?

Look for Bdaniel's wildcat 5th wheel site. He just finished a pretty nice laptop holder for the center console on a 6 speed. I have been playing with a few things as I would like to use my laptop with gps but haven't come up with anything I like yet.

Wondering if Law Enforcement supply stores would have some good ones, since many departments are using laptops in the cruisers these days?

Re:Laptop Mounts?

Check here Ram Mount. They have a lot of the type you don't want, but they have quite a variety of components and might have something that will suit your needs. I use them for my GPS unit and it is quality stuff.
