Lamp out warning chime

Hey folks, the other morning i was travelling on a gravel road going to work and hit a spot with a little bit of wash board. While the truck bounced over the wash board the lamp out warning chime came on for two chimes and then went off. A mile later i hit another small little bump and the lamp out light just barely comes on for a second then goes off and is not consistent, so it seems it is a loose connection of some sort. I took the back of my headlight connections off and blew them out then put them back together and it did it again this morning. It's not dark when i got to work so the only lights on are my headlights (daytime running lights). Im just wondering what else it could be, i'd hate to say it but im stumped. If anyone could give me some advice to try and solve this problem i'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks

Matt

It could be the TS or Tail lights, the computer monitors the resistance on all for corners.. It could be a filament ready to go, do yourself a favor and replace all of the Tail & TS bulbs ( the ones with the glass bases hold up better) the rear top stop light is part of the circuit to

ok, so even if the tail lights are not on in the morning and the resitance on one of the tail lights is not correct than the chime will go off? Are the clearance lights involved with this circuit; or just your main drive lights and tail lights, as well as the top brake light?

No the clearance lights are not part of the required monitoring.. A bulb could be going bad and the bumpy road is giving you a make / bake contact(the bulbs are monitored regardless if they're on or off - a gov. safety reg.) For no more than the Tail and TS bulbs cost just replace them all. check all light sockets for proper contact (IE no burnt spots) A dab of die-electric silicone helps to prevent corrosion as well..

Oh ok perfect. Than on my way home from work tommorow I will stop and pick up a handful of bulbs and replace them, that way it will eliminate me searching and hopefully I will be chime free for a few more miles. Thanks for your feedback Colo River Ram!
