no wonder they can be stolen so easy

Was changing the tranny fluid in the truck yesterday and noticed a sticker on the frame, had the vin number on it. and then found the sticker on 3 other palces on the frame, under the cab(on the floor pan) on the bed, Which at first made me happy like wow its all over. But then i thought well there all stickers its no wonder its so easy to steal a truck and what not. Now it all makes sense

It actually makes it easier to identify parts if it was stolen or the vin tag was replaced or destroyed.

all the new vehicles are tag'd this way.

at least mine are.

I was offered a deal from the dealer to etch the vin in all the body panels. i wondered how they could do that in 5 min. thinking it was a scam, or its already there.

Those stickers leave behind the vin #'s the instant they are pulled off. You have to do something CSI like to read them, maybe a certain kind of light or chemical, but the VIN will be there even when the sticker is gone and it looks like nothing is there.
