My 03 SO came with two keys but no remote/fob. It does however have power locks. Do all the power lock equipped trucks come with keyless entry, and perhaps I just didn't get a remote?

 

No, not all trucks with power locks come with remote entry. Mine has power locks, but on the order, I chose not to include the remote entry option. I wish I would have included it now, I think it is probably worth the money.

 

Okay. My next question is if it didn't come with the remote do I for sure not have remote operated or is it there and I just need to buy a remote?

 

go to dodge .com give them you serial number and they will e-mail a run sheet for your truck....then you will know if it has remote entry.....I got one

I'm not sure about anything older but as far back as '03 if the truck has power door locks we program 2 keyless fobs for the truck. The only reason I know this is because I work for them. It was part of my job. Sometimes we would get fobs that didn't work or someone didn't program them. I would have to fix it by reprogramming those fobs or new ones.

 

So what you're saying nightowl is that I can go to Dodge and have them program me a fob?

 

B.S. there is a module that must be installed for the keyless system.Not all trucks come with this module.It can be added and is not too expensive.
