Js - Ship To Storage???

My truck went to JS status on 3/20 - ship to storage. I never saw it go into build status, but to be shipped to storage, I would assume it has to be built - .

I looked at Insight for my dealer and noticed that none of the trucks that have been loaded on railcars went through JS status. That would imply that this may be an out-of-the-ordinary event.
I'm actually glad it didn't get loaded and shipped immediately (don't want it to get here before my FB 45-day period is up). But, I don't want it to sit there indefinitely either.

Does anyone know why a truck would be stored instead of loaded and shipped?

Thanks,
Neil

Mine went to storage for 2-3 weeks for what turned out to be the exhaust clamp issue. The rep I talked to also mentioned something about random quality control checks. Unfortunately this is the worst part of the process waiting for it to show up at the dealer. It's a crap shoot until it shows up at the dealer. The good news is when you get your new truck you quickly forget how frustrated you were about the wait

Neil,

The salesman at Dublin Dodge told me that they randomly pick vehicles for emissions testing. It can take a couple of weeks. Also they crash tested one sold car and didn't even notify the dealer. After investigating, they finally found out why the car wasn't being shipped. DC IS NOT VERY GOOD AT COMMUNICATING.

And this is the company that is so cheap it uses tape instead of rubber floor plugs?

They pulled a sold order from the assembly line & crash tested it, just on the off chance that it would produce a different result than they got when the vehicle underwent testing in it's design stage?
(Maybe they call it a crash test when the delivery driver drops it off the top of the double decker delivery trailer! )

I'm thinking of starting a list of great salesmen stories, starting with the sound insulation thats really a complex fire prevention system, with special temprature sensitive plugs that allow it to drop down & smother any high pressure fuel fires that occur in the engine compartment !!!!

I guess any thing is possible. However, it seems like all the trucks destined for my dealer built around the same time have gone into JS status. The ones that have been shipped didn't go through JS status at all. It seems unlikely that a random sample would affect more than one vehicle going to the same dealership. I assume it's that they are either waiting for some part or fix before shipping or, even more likely, waiting for a train headed our way.

Looks like it didn't stay in storage very long - because today it went KZ and tomorrow it gets loaded on the train. ETA is 4/13 to the dealer in Canoga Park, CA. If it's on time, that's 52 days (give or take a day) from order. And, the timing is great. My FB membership is 45 days old on 4/8 - just in time!

Now for the fight with the dealer to get the $2k / 0% deal. Hopefully, with all the supporting info on this board, that will be a no-brainer.
