Instrument panel going haywire

I seem to be having an electrical problem with my 04...it shows a p0483 code, and now it has the brake-abs light on also. Meanwhile, the instrument panel is turning on & off-speedo stuck, tach stuck, other gauges going to 0...then gauges come back, then go again....absolutely lost as to what is wrong.
I disconnected the batteries for about 15 minutes yesterday to see if that would help...no change. Any help is appreciated....

By the way, I have already changed the right side abs sensor and had the module rebuilt at module masters....

DTC p0483 is a problem with fan speed. Which would not affect the gauges. Most likely there's a glitch in the ECU, from the EZ box.

Put the ECU back to stock, and that might fix the problem. If it doesn't, you'll have to take it to the dealer and have the ECU reprogrammed.

I had to do that last month, cost me $115.

Thanks Bob, I will try this and see what happens. I am going to have to replace the fan clutch I guess, even though it still feels pretty good. I hope the gauges behave themselves, but I have a feeling the abs is going to be a problem...again...as soon as I fix these stupid problems, I'm getting rid of this truck, too many electronics.......thanks again for the ideas!!

I could be totally wrong here but to me that means there is no connection between the ecm and guages......

the problem I have is it is intermittent(sp?) it goes back and forth from tach & speedo gone, to gauges gone, sometimes both, but will 'chime' and come back on, then just as quick, go out again....freaking driving me nuts!
The headlights come on as well...my truck appears to be possessed....

I'd bet it's a loose connector somewhere. You can look at the body builders guide to see which connectors you need to check.

Check the wireing in the column, between the switch and where it comes out the bottom of the column. Reports of broken wires in this area.

thanks guys, turns out it was/is the abs controller or one of the sensors is bad. I unplugged the abs and sure enough, gauges work fine except no speedo...time to check the rear sensor I guess...thanks for the ideas
