Installed my new suspension, wheels and tires! Pics, of course...

I installed a KORE Recon suspension, 18x9 Centerline Grizzly's, and Toyo 35x12.50 MT's yesterday. Only a few problems - the chrome on one of the wheels peeled a little as the tire was inflating and the bead popped up on the rim. Almost worse, the center caps are somewhat loose after the wheels are tight and they rattle. I think I can fix the rattle by putting some o-rings over the caps, but the chrome issue is a real hassle. Hopefully Centerline will honor their warranty.

Otherwise, the ride quality is greatly improved and it looks 1000% better IMHO. I still need to get it aligned and download an update for my Smarty so I can calibrate the speedo/ABS. There is only minor rubbing at the bottom of the rear of the front wheel well, but I think a little time with a heat gun will fix that.

I'd forgotten what a workout playing with these trucks can be - everything on it is HEAVY!!

You also say it is electric blue. It looks like mine which is Atlantic blue. Is there much of a difference or is it an 07 thing? I may need to photochop your tires and wheels on mine!! I really like those.

I think my Neon (partially visible in the first pic) is Atlantic Blue. The truck is darker and the paint seems much deeper. The color seems to change a lot depending on lighting - at night it almost looks purple. Electric Blue is new for `07, although it was used back in the late 1980's too, IIRC.

Yes, very nice... Good pick on parts! I looked at an electric blue one and didn't like it, but I now have a new found respect .
And atlantic blue is much different from that, my 04 was atlantic blue really nice like sky blue but a little darker... Although not as dark as electric blue.

Thanks again for posting pics, that is 3 inches up front correct?

How hard was the install? I want to do it myself over a 3 day weekend. Is an alignment necessary immediately after or can I wait a few days?

I sure wish the the front axle was centered in the wheelwell openning from the factory.

Thanks for the compliments! I'll try and consolidate answers to questions in one post...

From Joe T: "Thanks again for posting pics, that is 3 inches up front correct?
How hard was the install?"

Yep, 3" in front, 1" in back. Install wasn't too bad other than wrestling the front coils into place. I was glad I had some help with that! It does need an alignment now - it just slightly pulls to the right. I think I'll put another hundred miles on it first to let everything settle in.

From wreedCTD: "What kind of grille is that?"

It's from a Sport model - painted from the factory. I had the dealer order it and install it before I took delivery, and sold the original chrome grill on eBay after I got the truck. The dealer also installed and painted the SRT hood before delivery.

From nriver: "close up of the wheels?"

From THURENfab: "What backspacing are the wheels?"

5" backspace. BTW, I have a feeling I'll be contacting you soon for a track bar.

Once I get the rubbing issue cured, I'm installing Extenda-Fender flares, painted to match.

Thumbs up

Looks great!
Thats one of my favorite newer colors too.

Only thing id change is the tail lights to '06s

Also, just noticed from the side shot, it kind of looks like the axle could move foward an inch or so, maybe its the camera angle...
The KORE setup doesnt come with longer control arms right? You still use the stockers?
