Question Infinity Stereo (Where is the sub?)

I can't find my build sheet for my truck. But I thought it said that my stereo system is an Infinity 7-speaker (One of the speakers is a subwoofer). Does anyone know where the sub is located? Also, can another be added to this system? The truck is a 2003 with Laramie package.

No sub... Only the SRT-10 viper truck gets a sub from the factory.

Thanks Luken. Do you know if a sub can be added without any expensive mods?

Depends on what you call expensive and how much sub you want.

I used the jl amp out of my ford and got the subs and box as one unit. All said and done I got 550-600 in it but that does not include the amp. JL 500/1new in stores is around 550, but can be had for around 350 on ebay.

If you have the quad cab MTX makes a box called the thunder form they used to sell it at Circuit City, it comes pre amped with 1 12" sub, it can be added to your system and it used to be like $299.00. hope that helps

On an 06, which wires are the best to tie into for an amp and sub?

Thanks for the info. I would like to stay under $500.00. I wonder if I can out a sub under the front/middle seat? I have a large storage compartment there, and I don't use it for anything. Anyone tried this before?

They call it a 7 speaker system because of the 3 tweeters on dash and 4 door speakers. They sell boxes that fit under the back seats

You can tap the speaker wires behind each front kick panel and run the sub mono. Behind the head unit, tap the Infinity amp remote On wire to switch your amp. Run the power for the new amp all the way to the battery or fuse box. You will need a wiring diagram to get the correct wire colors.

I didn't have a wiring diagram, and couldn't find a reliable source on the web. I just pulled my door panel and looked at the speaker wires, then tapped in behind the kick panel.

Good advice. So I guess there's no pre-amp plug behind the Infinity?

I put a probox under my back seats with Diamond 12s, Pics are in profile. I love this set up, no rattles or anything, just a nice tight sound.
