I'd get me an ignition lock cylinder real quick! You have to rotate the ignition lock to get it out or it is a MAJOR job!!!

REMOVAL
The ignition key must be in the key cylinder (1) for cylinder
removal.
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Remove upper and lower covers (shrouds) from
steering column.
3. Place shifter in PARK position.
4. A retaining pin is located at the underside of the
key cylinder assembly.
a. Rotate key to RUN position.
b. Press in on retaining pin while pulling key cylinder
(1) from ignition switch.

Agree! why not talk to the dealership and ask for a key replacement. A friend of mine had encountered the same problem and had paid thousands of dollars to replace the part.

If you pull the lock cylinder out before it has to be destroyed to remove it you can get the numbers and positions of the tumblers to key the new switch yourself. The tumblers should come with the lock cylinder if you buy it from the dealer. You just have to key it.
