Ideas on custom paint

My truck is down for $11,000 in repairs. The whole front clip is going to be replaced. Since it all has to be painted I was thinkin bout doin somethin different. I need somethin simple so the body shop will do it close to no extra charge. The one problem I have is that the truck is all white. I was thinking a fade, but don't really know what color would go good with a white truck.

I am going to paint the grill and get a sport bumper and paint it too. I was thinking bout a dark blue or electric blue front end faded into the white ? Opinions ?? OR maybe racing stripes, but not sure how that would look with the srt10 hood I have ??

Anybody have pics of some custom paint or racin stripes ? Thanks, Dan

I leave it all white and save the racing stripes and fade for the now out of style ricers and 90's chevys guys.

Of course it's up to you but id hate to see racing stripes on a CTD.

Less is more now days

I think it would look really clean if you went with a really bright superwhite paint w/ sport bumper and grille and clear corners and HID's.

Keep it clean

I put this in another post

SRT 10 hood, Fiberglass fenders.

I know not much about the paint, but should not be much more if you are replacing the front clip.

Well, Flames look good

sounds like your trying to build a beaner truck... stay away from the 2tone fades.

if anything, go for a solid 2-tone like the '03 black/silver ford harley davidsons, or the '04 black/orange harley f350's...

if you do a 2 tone like this, stick with black on top, and make sure the break in color is high....

Okay, I think you guys chased me away from the fade and the stripes. Guess maybe I'll just leave it all white. **** this color is hard to keep clean.

Just one quick thought, how about what I have heard called "Ghost Flames" Saw one at the local Dodge dealer last year on a white truck and thought it looked very nice. Mix of silver and different shades of white in a flame around the front of the truck, Very soft and barely noticable but when you look close it looked very nice. No idea on cost so..........

If you want something different looking I would at least look into what it costs to have it done.....that may put it out of the ball park but worth the look.

Ghost flames or a two ton job that is split by flames on the front.

Give me a good side shot of your truck and I'll photoshop it.

BTW, white sports look good in all white as well:

Post up a picture and I'll do some photoshop on it.

I would like some idea's myself. Went to the local dealer today for a "Diesel Day". I got 20% off an already good price for a srt-10 hood, so next week I will receiving a new hood and looking for a paint scheme. Can't wait!!!

You could always have a pearl paint laid over the existing paint. Candy apple green, orange, yellow, violet...It would really pop in the sunshine. Fades look nice, but in reality, what does it look like 5 years from now when you have mismatched touch-up spots on the hood, bumper, and rockers! I remember seeing a 2nd generation white dually with violet ghost flames on the hood and front fenders, and the entire truck have a violet pearl. It looked magnificant!!

Fades in my opinion are extremely hard to do correctly, I love the two tone Fordys paint,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I agree with WL
