I need help with my 35" Toyo M/T

I have a 05' CTD and it is completely stock. I was given a set of 35" Toyo M/T tires for the truck. If anyone is currently running these tires or a similar tire on their truck what other modifications were neccesary for maintaining the integrity of the truck? Thanks in advance.

I believe a 2" lift is needed so they don't rub. Also depends which wheels are on the truck.

Im running the exact same setup on my truck at the moment(see gallery). I installed a 2" leveling kit on the front to compensate for the 35's. At a full lock in the steering wheels it would rub slightly, not much but it was to much for me to handle. So I just recently installed a 4" Tuff Country lift and it is great, looks mean as all hell to.

Anyways, maintaing them is not hard, keep the air pressure set(I run 40 psi) all the way around and keep them rotated. They should last you quite some time,

btw, some one just gave you them? Their not exactly cheap. I payed a arm and a leg for mine, and thats with a employee discount.

Nate-03-D, this may sound like a dumb question but did you keep the 2 inch leveling kit with the 4 inch lift kit? How much did you pay for lift and leveling kit together and do you have a company online you'd reccomend purchasing them from? My brother won the set of toyo tires in a contest. He had no use for them so I inherited them.

BTW Nate the truck looks mean.

Nate,

Great looking ride! I've got an '04.5 4x4, stock height, and just got a leveling kit (2.5" Trailmaster - not yet installed).

Do you have any pics of your truck with the new lift? Also, same question as above...does the 4" lift go with the leveling kit, or does it replace it? I think the tuff country uses a spacer up front...but I could be wrong.

Again, nice ride!

ppw, I have heard that 35's will fit with a leveling kit...let's hope so, cause that's my plan! Awesome deal on the tires!

This is kind of ill-timed and should have been put at the beginning of this thread. But to fill everyone in on what happened with the tires. On the day I received my Toyo tires I took them to the tire shop. The manager or owner of the shop said his company did many installations of this sort. He highly reccomends that I have a lift kit on the truck first and a wheel that is able to accomodate the tires requirement which is 8.5-11. Furthermore, he said if his company did perform the work he would not guarantee the work and he was unsure if the vehicle would be safe to operate. Obviously he was not going to give me a receipt for the service either.

I don't want to have the tires on my truck if they are going to be a problem. At the same time before I spend the money on the suspension and wheels I would've liked to experience the tires for a while and if I didn't like them, I'd put the stock ones back on.

So since then I've decided on going with a 4" lift, leaning towards skyjacker because of their reputation. I am still undecided about what wheels I am going to get. Too many to chose from. Thanks everyone for replying to this thread.

Disclaimer some of this thread may not make sense because some of it was typed out of boredom.

Save your self the money on the 4inch lift unless you really want it. The leveling kit will do the job as long as you keep the stock rims. 99% of all the after market rims the backspacing is wrong and will cause the tires to stick out the side and rub. Even with a 4inch lift and after market rims you could rub, it's all about the backspacing.
