My blower motor on HVAC is intermittent, sometimes it won't come on, sometimes it will. Will work for a while then die off. From research I have done it's not the resistor because it does this at high fan setting. Found out if I slap the motor when it's not working it will come back on.
Figure I need to replace the motor but thought I would check in here first to see if there is something else I should look at.

Mine is doing the same-----going to replace it before winter just in case-----my wife's Acura did the same before it finally died in hers years ago.DW

 

Yep, sounds like the blower motor. The brushes usually wear out and their contact becomes intermittent.

 

so, looking on Rock Auto I see there is TYO for $37, Four Seasons for $40, and VDO for $70. such a wide spread in price makes me wonder if the less expensive ones are crap. any advice on brand preferences?
