Question HuuuuuH?????

Little long sorry.

O.K. just got back from vacation and had a little trouble. Started with a odd vibration/surging when backing the 5th wheel posted about that earlier. The second problem I had was an A/C problem. Leave the house heading to WV about 30 minutes in to the trip the rear passengers complain about it being hot so I go to turn the air to max but it is already there. The fan is on full but very little is coming out of the vents. Try to change it to floor and defrost same thing you can hear it blowing wide open put next to nothing coming through the vents. I decided to stop after calling a Dodge dealer in Knoxville to see if they could look at it quickly if I brought it in. Drop the 5th wheel in their parking lot and let them take it. the service writer gets in and it won't even change to the floor for him. Pulls it around back and about 20 minutes later the tech looks at it and works fine. He tells me it is more than likely a computer glitch and can do nothing till it is not working for him. Get the truck back hook up to the trailer and I check for codes none showed up. Back on the road 30 minutes it does it again about 2 hours later it just starts working and have not had the prolem since. What do I do?

I am getting irritated with all the little problems I have had with the truck, but I am very happy with the engine and tranny just wish someone else had this combo. Truck has been in the shop five times in the last year for diff things. Once or twice sure but man I am getting tired of taking it in. sorry to vent I am just irritated.

I think there is a TSB for the poor A/C problem. Go to http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html

That TSB covers lack of air from the floor vents.

VPI it does sound like you have a Software problem in the computer, however it could also be a connector problem. Have you had any work done on the dash around the radio lately??

If they have had anything done where someone has pulled the counsel from around the radio they may have disconnected the controls for the A/C and not pushed them back in all the way

Sounds like the evaporator is icing up. Need to check and see if it's low on R134a. And if it is low make sure they charge it to the high side of the pressure range. BTW, my buddy's '03 is doing the same thing. He's supposed to take it in this week and have the A/C pressure checked. I believe quite a few trucks have left the factory low on freon.

Mine did the same thing (twice) this past summer on a cross country trip. Only happened when the humidity was WAY high (raining out both times). I turned the A/C off and ran the vent only for several miles and it "fixed" itself. I assume it was the evaporator icing up. It hasn't happened since I've returned to the desert

Since MikeyB has reminded me of my refrigeration basics, I think I'll take it in for a pressure check. I'm also having problems with the passenger side A/C being warmer than the drivers side...and I DON'T have dual zone temp control
