How's your leather holding up?

I've been thinking about getting some seat covers for my truck but have gone back and forth on it. Started thinking about it the day I drove off the lot with the new truck back in '06 because the leather on these trucks doesn't seem as good as the leather that was on my '01. I've only got abou 20,000 miles on my truck so it hasn't seen a lot of use. Those of you who are in and out of your truck a lot (use it for work, maybe?) or have logged a lot of miles, how's the leather on your truck holding up (I assume most of the leather on the 3rd gens is the same?)?

I duck, deer and goose hunt a lot in the fall/winter so I hate getting in and out of the truck wet on these seats because they just don't seem built to take the abuse. Anyone else?

Yo, Dog...

Mine are holding up pretty good.

I use some leather cleaner/conditioner, usually the Amour All gel type stuff, at least once a month, very liberally, all over the seats, especially the drivers' seat.

Since I'm the only one getting in and out of there several times a day on a daily basis, I make a conscious attempt to not "just slide out of the seat..."

...Rather pick my ace up and step onto the nerf bar...'cuz that seems to be the part the wears out the most.

In the winter, when snowplowing, is when I get in and out the most, and my stuff seems to still look like new.

179k miles and mine are still like new. Only had the opportunity to clean them once. Used the mink oil stuff made by Liquid Glass. They seem to be faring better than the 04.5's leather seats.

Mine is holding up ok. I treat it every so often with hand lotion.

On my 01 I swapped the bottom portion of the drivers seat with the paassenger seat sevral times to even out the wear. I dont know if these newer trucks will do that. I use Mopar seat covers that really fit the dodge seats, color match well and are washable.

Mine are holding up ok, but as soon as I get some time I'm going to order some covercraft seat covers, haven't decided on which fabric yet. I like the leather better than the fabric, cleans easier, except for pipe dope, this is why I want covers, (also, dogs).

Okay, well maybe I'll hold off on the seat covers. I'm trying to be better about pickin my **** up and stepping on the nerf bar, rather than just jumping/sliding out. I got to thinking, "Why do I even have nerf bars since I just hop in and out all the time?" Then I realized that 95% of the women I go on dates with need a step stool to get into the truck, especially with the new setup. haha

I love leather vs. cloth to clean as well, just wanted to make sure it's going to hold up okay. Now, if they just made a camo leather . . .

I have ALI Leather seat covers. Love them. They came with some added cushion so now my seats are more comfortable. Truck came with cloth from the factory, which was junk. I treat my leather about once a month with Meguires (sp?) leather conditioner. So far so good. Oh and by the way the ALI's fit really nicely.
