How long should my brakes last?

One of the things that has really impressed me with this truck is the braking power, but recently, it doesn't seem to stop as fast and the pedal feels a little different too. It is currently at 45k.

Its always different from driver to driver and how truck is used. These trucks are known for long brake life.As disc brakes wear the braking performance should not be affected even up to the moment they hit metal to metal.I think there are squeal warning tabs to let you know when pads are within a 1/8 of a inch.

The brakes should feel the same regardless of material left on the pads. My fronts went 95,000 before I changed them and they could have gone a bit farther. The rears have about 140,000 on them now and are original.

I tow some, drive in the mountains a lot and the rest is highway and city. Always with various loads.

These trucks seem to get alot of life out of the stock pads, im at 56k with about 50% left on them. Most of my miles are towing w/ 11-13k behind me.

Just had my brakes done at 46000. They only did the front. I asked why. They said they went to put the new pads on the back and something looked weird. So they measured the new pads, and the existing pads- the existing pads had more pad left than the new ones had to begin with so they left them on!! LOL Of course they were supposed to be using OEM pads- I have to do some more research on that to see if they really did!

I have 42k on mine with 37" tires and 75% city driving and still have over 50% pad left. I love it!

I got 105,000 out of front pads and at 122,000 on rears they are probably at 75% left.
