No, all you should have to do is pull the rubber boot back from the door and the jam. You may want to pull the panel to see if you have power at the motors.

Good vid! I have been putting off taking mine off for years. Do you think its the same on an 03 other than there not being any screws holding the switches down?

Should be pretty much the same. The switch screws were on the inside.

Great beverage choice, I've been wanting a sign like that. These door panels are the easiest I've ever taken off, this would have kept me from having to read the service manual a couple months ago when I tinted the windows. I'm sure others will find this useful, see the question come up a lot.

You got that right! I got the sign from a friend that was throwing it away... "Dang light don't work!"

Yeah, a trip to Lowe's and some screws...

I try to make a vid whenever I tear something apart.

Great job madhat! Have intermittent lock failure on the passenger door where it doesn't lock, in order to lock you have to unlock and relock again. Shop looked and said they didn't see any problems. Any ideas?
Thank you for you service!

You're saying that just the passenger side front door will not lock when you use the switch? Does it only do it with the driver side switch, or is it intermitant with the passenger switch, too?

I'd start with looking at the wires running through the door, peel the black cover off the wires and look at them, see if they are chafed. Then, I'd make sure I had a good connection going to the actuator for the lock switch inside the door.

If you give me some more info, I can help you out better.

Thanks madhat. Very helpful video. I'll have to take my passenger side off in a couple days when my new mirror gets in.

Thanks for the video. It surely prevented me from breaking something. My truck didn't come with power locks from factory so I'm in the process of installing power locks on all 4 doors.

Thanks for the information. I have to pull the passenger panel to tighten the mirror mounts.

Glad I could help. Passenger side is even easier. You don't have to take the wires off to tighten the mirrors, just let the panel hang.

Are you using a kit to do this? If so do you (or anyone else for that matter) have a link to an inexpensive, but good working one?

Thanks
Jim

Mark, thank the Mrs for the vid and thank you for your service. I am having a different issue. The window control on the passenger side doesn't work, however I can control that window from the drivers panel.....any suggestions??? TIA
