I would suggest making a new thread on this with the codes that you are showing as the thread starter...

Just my .02, since I don't have the answer for you.

How to Check codes:

Turn the key on and off 3 times, do not engage starter. On the third cycle, leave the key on. In my vid, it reads 'DONE' because I have no codes, but if you have them, they will display.

How to do a gauge check/display 'C' codes:

Press the odometer trip reset, hold it, then turn the key to the 'ON' position. Do not engage starter. Once the gauge check starts, you can release the button. Once it is done with the gauge check, it will display 'C' codes.

Hour meter check:

Turn key to 'ON'. Press and hold Odometer trip reset button. After a few seconds of it being pressed, it will show the hours.

First, I want to say thank you for the trouble in posting this information. I used the following link to help decipher P-codes:

P-Codes:
http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3r...en-trucks.html

I had no "P" codes, but did have a "C" code combination"

A4 01

I haven't found A4, so if someone would post, it would be appreciated.

(I see that the OP is deployed at Iwakuni; I've a son at Kadena (VMGR 152). I was thinking of ALL of you-all while at the recent annual air show at NAS Corpus Christi; how is that May 5 show?)

Just did my 03 pretty cool. It brought up code p0483 which is fan speed whatever that has to do with anything doesnt overheat.

A big thing with these codes... if anything out of the norm is detected by the ECM/PCM, it set's a code. Sometimes, there is just a hiccup, and something goes out of tolerance for a second, then straightens back up.

If the truck is not running bad, or you don't see any symptoms that the code described, get it cleared and see if it comes back. Make sure it's a failure, an not just a glitch.

Rednax, I'm in Okie right now, just a stones throw away from Kadena. Small world...

codes

so i checked my truck and i have some codes, where do i go to figure out what they are and how to clear them?

madhat 12-18-2009 05:29 PM

Here are the codes... What are they?

If you do not have a programmer like a smarty that will clear codes, you can take it to an auto parts store, and they can clear them out for you.

Hello,
I just checked my gauges and the speedo only goes to 100 not 120...

Is this bad?

madhat 05-07-2010 11:59 AM

What year truck?

And, yes, I think that means that there is something wrong with the computer... do you have a programmer with a speed limiter on it?

Hello, I am new to the forum, this is my first diesel truck, the first ouner had some sort of chip on it, I have none on it yet. I did the P code check and the C code check and came up with P0234, P0839, C codes was 00 00. In the list of codes the P0234 is Turbocharger Over-boost Condition, not sure what is causing that, the P0839 is not in the list of P codes, Can any one help me out with this? Thank you.

madhat 05-31-2010 09:44 AM

Welcome to the DTR. You're from my old neck of the woods, I grew up in Okeechobee.

The overboost code means that the ECM saw over 42-ish PSI of boost, and set that code. Nothing is wrong because of that, that code won't hurt anything. However, if the stock turbo saw that a lot, it could mean that your truck was beat on, and anything over 40 psi is not good for a stock turbo.

BTW... It's spelled Cummins... don't know if spell check got your sig or what.

Let me know if you need anything.
