Re:HO and CA Version

I checked out the page and it tells me the difference in the hp and torque of the engines but it doesn't explain what the differences are in regards to the different mechanics of the motor or exhaust system. I am curious because I want the truck out of California but I am not sure I am going to get it. In the future I plan on moving back to Cali from Arizona and I want to make sure what I buy now will be able to be registered there in the future. Can you take a new HO from lets say AZ into Cali and get it registered even if it isn't the engine designed for Cali. Would you have to modify the engine in order to get it Registered.

Eron

Re:HO and CA Version

If you are a resident of California, you can't buy a NEW vehicle from any other state and get it registered in California UNLESS: It was "MANUFACTERED FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA". originally. I know that many southern Oregon Dodge dealers sell trucks that are "MANUFACTERED FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA" because they are so close to California. However, since there are no 2003 HO's "MANUFACTERED FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA", it does you no good to try to get one from Oregon or anywhere else. They (california) pretty much have it locked up. You can however, buy any used vehicle (at least 7,500 miles) from any state and register it in California. Hope this helps.

CA can't make new residents sell their vehicle before moving.

Re:HO and CA Version

That's correct. You can legitimately reside in any state... legitimately move to any other state... and legitimately bring any vehicle with you...legitimately!
