hey i have heard about guys high idleing there CTD with cruise control?

how do i do this with mine? i have a 2006 2500 CTD auto tranny.

 

Dealer can do it with a computer change.

 

and it will cost you anywhere from $0 to $75. my dealer will sell you a truck cheaper than anyone on the country, but no freebies in service and some accessories are above MSRP. so, i don't have the high idle yet.

 

No need to change the computer. Just get it enabled in the ECM.

 

You can also enable the high idle,fogs with high beams and several other options with a Bully dog down loader.It doesn't matter if it is vin locked with another trucks # it will still do the vehicle options.

 

Before you head off to the dealer, check it first to ensure that the high idle wasn't already enabled as mine was.

Turn cruise control on and then hit the set button. If it's enabled, your idle should jump up to around 1200 RPM. You can hold down the accelerate button and increase it up to 1600 RPM'ish. Try 'er out.

 

Anyone in S.E. Idaho got a triple dog I can rent to enable those features??

My 06 Megacab does it automatically if the air tempature is too cold it idles up. I'll have to try the cruise control deal.

 

All of them idle up to 1000 rpm in cold. The high idle that is being talked about here is where you can go up to 1500 or whatever you want using your cruise control
