Question Help!!!--what rebate???

So my truck finally came in. I went to the dealership Monday to sign the papers. I told them that I ordered in Jan. My order was placed the 8th or 9th after I put down my deposit on the 7th. Anyway, at the time I thought that the combo rebate program ($2000 and 0%APR) was available on the 2500 quad cab. The finance guy said that the only rebate available was $2500 and wrote my papers up for that. I (DUH!!!) believed him and signed at 4.26%. Today I called DC customer service and they said that I was eligible for the combo because of sold order protection. I called my dealer and they said they hadn't heard of that, but the would call DC and ask. I got nervous and called DC back. The new person I got said that the combo was never offered on the 2500 quad cab, only the regular cab.

1. Is it true that only the regular cab was eligible for the combo?

2. Should I be able to get the combo if the combo was available ("sold order protection")?

3. Am I hosed anyway because I signed the contract for 4.26%---If he told me wrong information does it matter?

Hope somebody can help explain!!!
thanks

I believe your eligable for the combo. I never heard of a dileniation between the regular and quad cab. They were all covered under the same rules.

Edit: I ordered mine on 2/6 and they told me I was covered for the 2K and 0%. They tell me I am still covered because I ordered the truck during the eligable period, aka. sold order.

I have to agree with Buzzer. I'm sure it was ALL HDs, in all configurations.

I'm in the same boat, as I locked in (so I though) the 2000/0% combo.

The $2500 is the CURRENT rebate on these trucks. So, you should have your choice - the combo, or take the slightly higher rebate, but financing with interest.

Since more of us that ordered during that time will (hopefully) be picking up our trucks soon, we will see. I suspect that the rebates WILL be available, but the 0% will not. The more I read, I believe sold order protection applies to rebates only, NOT financing.

I placed my order on 1/28. I went back twice to confirm that I'd still get the $2k and 0% when I pickup my truck sometime the end of this year, or next.....

Dealer said both times...."You'll get it, don't worry! You have buyer protection."

If any of you guys actually get the $2000/0% deal via "sold order protection", please post it (along with the name of the dealer and/or the DC rep who helped you with it). Like Wexman, I understood SOP to only apply to the cash rebates, not financing incentives - BUT I'D LOVE NOTHING MORE THAN TO BE WRONG ON THIS! BTW, I was told this both by my dealer and by the carsdirect person I was working with.

There are a lot of us waiting for our trucks who ordered during the $2000/0% period and would love to be able to have that as an option.

Thanks,
Neil

Ordered 2004.5 truck Jan 31st 2004. Picked up truck on March 6th. Managed to get an employee choice number at the last minute, so my good 2% under invoice price deal became a great 4.5% under invoice price. I did get the 0% $2000 48 month financing, however, I did lose the $500 farm bureau rebate because of the EC pricing. There never was a question about geting the 0% because of the sold order protection.
Dealer was Lithia Dodge in Concord, California.

Dan
Calculated 15.7mpg after first fill up.

That's good to know Dawall. Since you have employee connections (so THAT'S how you got your truck so fast ), is there a contact at DC Customer Service that you know of if any of our dealers give us the runaround, as, obviously, Bobo got taken for a ride by his dealer.

You're reading my mind, Wexman. My dealer is really arrogant about this point. He's so convinced about it, it'll take some doing to get him to even follow up with DC. I guess my not taking delivery and sticking him with the truck might motivate him a bit if he digs in to that extent . A bona-fide example like Dawall and a knowledgable/friendly contact at DC would be very useful when our time comes. Even a contact point at another dealership that has gone thru it would help.

I was also told when I ordered on 2/20, through Hill-Kelly Dodge in Pensacola FL, that the rebate was locked but the interest rate wasn't.

This is typical of large corporations (I worked for one) - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Since Dawall received the 0%, obviously Chrysler Fianancial CAN do it, but the dealer probably has to push it through. Some dealers will, some others, obviously, will not. Even more important why it's important to get a centralized contact at DC so that the policy can come "from the top" so to speak.

May not be the best approach. Be FIRM, but POLITE. In fact, maybe call that contact number BEFORE you go in, so you are well armed. If they resist, have them call. If they STILL resist, maybe explain that the local TV news consumer reporter may be interested in this.

Let is know how it turns out. Good luck.
