Help Me Decide on Tires

My three choices are in no particular order are;
1) Mickey Thompson ATZ's
2) Nitto Terra Grapplers
3) Pro Comp Extreme All-Terrain

Now, I have a stock truck, no leveling kit. I tow very little and dont off road enough to speak of. I want a quiet, smooth ride out of my next tires. I currently have Pro Comp Mud Terrains (33x12.50x17) and have been very pleased with them. I am just tired of the rougher rideand vibration associated with a mud terrain tire. They have 35k on them right now and still have another 5-10k left. I am looking ahead . I really have been looking close at the Pro Comp Extreme All Terrains because I have had such good luck out of the Mud Terrains.

Who has experience with any of these? I want a tire as big as I can get to fill out my wheel wells. If I recall correctly from a post on here, the Nitto's are close to 34". Is this correct? If so those would fill up the wheel wells pretty good. Whatcha guys think? Help me decide.

The Chapter President on another forum i'm on had MT ATZ's (37X13.50's) on an 07 2500 4x4 and he had 2, or 3, cant remember for sure, blow out on him. His truck isnt abused and they blew on paved road under normal driving. They werent very old either and didnt have many miles on them.

I have not had any experience with the Nitto's or M/T's but I have Pro Comp Extreme A/T's. I am very pleased with them.They wear great. The road noise is not bad at all. There's no doubt I will buy another set when mine wear out.

Had Nitto TG's 285-70R-17, same driving style as you do and I got 43,000 out of them. Replaced them with Nitto Terras in a slightly taller size, 285-75R-17...was very happy with the first set.

You need to decide what is important to you;
Big tires that look neat
Mileage
Road noise
Traction
Warranty
Availability
Price
Load range
% of highway vs off road
Your going to get lots and lots of opinions about tires based on everyone own experiences. Whats good for one may not be good for another. Listen to everyones advise and stories---check your wallet and go for it

Of the 3 you have listed...

Pro Comp's are what I would try.

Talking Tires

Have Pro-Comp AT Extremes now, they suck in the sand! Had the Toyo MT's not good in the sand also, my next set will be the new BFG"s KM 2's

Almost 50K on my Nitto terras. Religeous with the rotates and 2 alignments during this set. They do well in the rain, on the highway, and I was pleasantly surprised with them in the snow.

Can you post some photos of them? How noisy are they? Where did you get the tires?

Thanks,
Shawn

Of the choices offered I'd go with the Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Do well in mud, on the road (low noise, great wear, no vibrations), snow and rain.

As mentioned above, rotate whatever you buy every 5k miles, and do the chalk test every time you rotate.
