Help Accessory Delay truck at Dealer now

I have my truck at the dealer now and he has enabled my Idel Up but he cannot get the Accessory Delay to work. Says he tried to set it for 45sec. Can anyone help me point him in the right direction to get this to work? Does this option actually work on an 06? Does it happen to say in the owners manual that this option can be turned on. They dont think its an option on my truck.

Thanks for the help Scott

When I finally found a dealer that would enable the high idle on mine he knew what he was doing and he also said the acc. delay was not available on my truck. Said he looked at everything and just couldn't find it if it's there.

If your dealer can't figure it out, get a buddy with a BullyDog to do it for you! It's really easy to do with the BullyDog, so I wouldn't think it would be that hard for a dealer.

But to answer your question (or at least one of them), yes the delay works on '06 trucks.

I had my dealer go through thr options on mine and he got the acc. delay set for 10 min, (works), said he turned on the daytime running lights, (not working), and said that the high idle feature was factory set to work automaticaly. It will idle up to 1K RPM's under certin conditions, (it does work when it's cold), but couldn't be controlled with the cruse control like the earlier models pre 06' ???? Is this correct??? .

Nope, You can enable high idle with cruise buttons on an 06.

Yep, what Arcojet says is correct. I had them set my High Idel and it works great, they just can't get the Acc delay to work. Its still at the dealer they will try again today

I have my accessory delay set for 60 minutes.

There are 2 separate idle up/fast idel features. One is automatic and comes on when outside temps are somewhere around freezing. I noticed mine came on one day when it was 33*F. I think this is standard programming in all the newer trucks. The other is set manually and controlled by the cruise control. This needs to be "activated".

I used my Triple Dog to activate these features. If anyone needs to use it and are in my area swing on by and I'll hook you up. I'll be in Huntington Beach this weekend...

Looks like most of the guys with the Accessory Delay enabled are driving 3500's. Is it possible that only the 3500's have this feature?

no. software is software.

it will work, it is just probably hard to find, hidden in some submenu.

the BDTD is probably easier to use than the DRB3

anybody local to SC to turn on some options?

I know of at least 2 more...

Accessory Delay-your accessories will stay on for a set amount of time once the key is turned off or until the door is opened. Gives you time to get the windows rolled up after you turn the key off or lets you listen to the radio once the truck is turned off.

Idle Up Enable-lets you set a high idle between 1100-1500rpm with the cruise control controls to help warm up faster.

My 2500 has it turned on so its not just for the 3500's. IIRC all 2004-2006's can have Accessory Delay/power on with key off, DRL's and high idle all turned on by the dealership!
