Heater Treater Metal Blend Door
Heater Treater Metal Blend Door
I've got a '04 3500 with the common broken blend door problems. Has anyone tried this metal blend door fix by Heater Treater and had any luck? It makes sense to me to replace the pastic doors with metal and I definetely like the idea of not having to pull the dash and case out of the truck. Says depending on the amount of doors broken, repairs can be done in about 1-2 hours. So I figure half a day and maybe get cold a/c on both sides? Here's the link, let me know if anyone has any feedback. Thanks, Dave.

Over a year on heater treater doors (all of them), and no issues at all. However, I do not recommend slicing up your air box to install them. Do it right and pull the dash. You'll learn a lot about your truck, and you just might find other issues that need attention.

There may be others if you do a search.

Appreciate the info guys, trying to decide if I want to attempt the repair with my dremel or pull the dash and heater case. Definetely gonna replace that recirc. housing with new updated one. Probably order me some parts in next few days...
The dodge trucks have to be one of the easiest truck dashes to pull. With all the write ups floating around you can't hardly go wrong if you take your time. I wouldn't cut the box up to change the doors. But to do it right (pull the a/c box) you need to evacuate the a/c system, and then vacuum and recharge once the repairs are complete.
