Heater blower power wiring

I installed my Espar heater, hooked up a relay and a fused 12v source to the Orange/Green power wire to the blower motor. The Espar turns on the relay, which connects power to the Orange/Green wire and turns the blower on. It works great.

Except, now my blower motor will not turn on without the Espar being on. I removed the C3 plug going to the TIPM and jumped the Orange/Green wire to 12v, and the blower turned on. So the wiring from the TIPM to the blower motor is intact.

Does anyone know where the TIPM gets its power for this wire? Which fuse? which wire? I'm assuming maybe from the ignition on the steering column? Schematics guys?

Thanks a lot.

The power comes straight from the switch.

Any idea what color it is? As far as my schematics say, the switch grounds the motor through the resistance circuit. Thanks.

Looks like it's fuse 23 or 32 both are 10 amp. If you have adjustable pedals they shouldn't work either if it's a blown fuse.

Checked all fuses, all good, continuity etc. Checked all the fuse recepticles. Theyve all got 12v to them. Other ideas?

I think it was in the middle of the 06 model year they switched from powering the fan directly off of the ignition switch to powering it from the TIPM.

In both cases, the fan gets + whenever the key is on, and the **** completes the circuit to ground either directly (on high) or through the resister block for other speeds.

There have been several threads about charred wires/ignition switch resulting in problems with the fan not working, or not shutting off when the key is shut off (which I suppose is why they changed them to power off the module instead of direct from the switch).

Looking at the wiring diagram for the blower motor there is no orange/green wire. You can find the wiring diagram for the 06 mega here http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/200...nditioning.pdf The positive side of the blower is a pink/light green and the negative is a dark blue/yellow. When you tapped into the power wire you didn't inadvertently disconnect it back to the TIPM did you?

Right, I meant pink/green. Thanks for the help guys. It looks like something has fried in the TIPM or the steering column. I just added a relay in the kick panel and wired it to an acc/run circuit to bypass the problem. I'm not about to pay Dodge for a TIPM. Thanks again for the help lads, catch ya on the next one.

Did you check voltage at pin 17, connector 3 of the TIPM to make sure a wire didn't just get pulled out at one of the connectors?

The voltages at p17, c3 is not there. That's where I jumped the 12v to turn the fan on. It wasn't a connector issue, but seems like the 12v from my Espar heater must have zapped the TIPM when it turned on while the ignition was off.
